Cast spreaders are medical-grade prying devices the size of a regular pair of lineman's pliers. When inserted in to a small technician's cut in a plaster or fiberblass cast, the cast spreader may be used to expand the gap for inspection without requiring complete removal of the cast; or it may be used to aid in the removal of the cast around delicate or tight areas where a full-sized cast saw may not be advisable.
We offer bandage scissors in several styles and shapes to accommodate many difficult areas where a cast saw or cast spreader may not be applied easily. Some feature a dull-tipped lower blade that may be used against bare skin without causing discomfort. Others offer short-tipped, long throw action to enhance cutting strength in a small, precise location--such as cutting through multiple layers of fiberglass at a joint.
Our flip-casting stand is a unique device to be used twice during the application of a foot/ankle cast. In the first position it offers a perfectly flat surface on which to apply the cast wrap to the foot/ankle. Then, after the bandage is applied, position two is used to form the arch of the foot while the bandage is still soft and workable.
